My Letter To Congressman Kissell Regarding HR 1207...

Dear Congressman Kissell,

I hope all is well with you. As a freshman in Congress, I am sure you must be overwhelmed with all the problems and challenges you have inherited from your predecessors. Unfortunately, the current Congress is only making matters worse.

American taxpayers, due to acts committed by Congress, the Treasury Department, and the Federal Reserve, are on the hook for almost $10 trillion in bailouts and loans. We are burdened by a $11 trillion national debt. Inflation is devaluing our currency at a alarming rate. This is a national emergency of epic proportions.

It is also a national disgrace.

Banks and other corporations are receiving billions of taxpayer’s dollars. Recently, members of Congress asked Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke to name which financial institutions have received these funds. Mr. Bernanke flat-out said “No”.

This is totally unacceptable!

Congress has the power and responsibility to conduct a comprehensive audit of the Federal Reserve. Unfortunately, Congress has failed in it’s duty to do so.

That is why I am humbly requesting you become a co-sponsor of HR 1207, the Federal Reserve Transparency Act.

This bill would require the Government Accountability Office to perform a complete audit of the Federal Reserve by the end of 2010. It would also reveal the details of agreements the Fed has made with foreign central banks and governments. Also, it would show which banks and Wall Street firms have received our money from the Fed.

On behalf of fiscal responsibility and transparent government, I hope you will stand up for all Americans and support HR 1207.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. I would like the opportunity to meet with you personally in the near future.

Sincerely,

Thomas Hill
